Overview

Polychem idler stub shafts are the lightweight alternative to traditional full-width steel shafting and cast iron wall bearings. We offer two base diameters and lengths to accommodate sprocket centerlines from 9 to 29 inches off the wall, allowing customized stub shafts to fit various tank sizes, system loadings, and existing structural conditions.

Retainer Plate

Sprockets can be secured to the stub shaft with a single bolt using the polycarbonate retainer plate.

Bearings

The water-lubricated UHMW-PE tubular bearings spin on the spindle and are keyed to the outer end tubes to support the shaft. Oil-filled Nylon 6 bearings are available for specific cases where high temperatures and chemicals corrode UHMW-PE.

Hardware

The hardware kit utilizes 316 SS leveling bolts to allow for proper alignment and adjustability in the field.
