TIJUANA, MEXICO – December 17, 2018 – Brentwood Industries, Inc., hosted a grand opening celebration for their ninth manufacturing facility located in Tijuana, Mexico. This new facility was launched to more deeply engage Baja California’s Medical and Electronics industries, as well as to better serve current and future customers in Latin America and the western United States. This is Brentwood’s first strategic, global expansion for their Medical Packaging line of products.
The event included remarks from Peter Rye, Brentwood’s President, Walter Banta, Senior Director of Operations at Brentwood, and Enrique Esparza, Jr., CEO of Co-Production International. On behalf of the Economic Development of Tijuana (SEDETI, City Government), Eng. Bernabé Esquer represented Mayor Juan Manuel Gastélum Buenrostro in welcoming Brentwood to the city. Members of the Brentwood Team cut the ribbon in front of the facility, officially commencing the opening celebrations.
Customers, local officials, and welcomed guests toured the brand new 35,000 ft2 (3,250 m2) facility, including the 7,500 ft2 (700 m2) ISO Class 7 clean room. The day concluded with cake and a performance by local musicians.
Brentwood is proud to have a facility in Tijuana with a talented local team. Banta commented on the success of the operation thus far stating, “Our US and Mexican teams launched Brentwood’s most advanced and sustainable production environment to date. The cross-functional and cross-cultural collaboration that led to this point is an example of who we strive to be as an organization.”
The future of Brentwood Mexico is bright with expansion plans already underway to add another production line in January 2019, just eight months after operational launch.
