With six different Polychem fiberglass flight scraper profiles to choose from, Brentwood offers more flight options than any other chain and flight manufacturer. All Polychem flights feature a flat-face design to minimize recirculation of solids and are fabricated from isophthalic polyester resin. They offer flexible solutions to accommodate tank wall variations and can be supplied pre-drilled and notched to account for chain center lines and floor and return rail wear strip locations.
The best profile for your application is chosen based on several site-specific conditions including tank dimensions, sludge loadings, and budget constraints. Take a look at each of our six profile types to determine which may be best for you:
C-CHANNEL FLIGHT
C-Channel flights are the preferred option for normal tank spans and loadings and are the industry standard. The 3″x6″ nominal size channels are typically used in cross collectors, power skimmers, and trayed tanks and can span bays up to 20 feet (6.1 meters). Depending on profile depth, as well as tank widths and return track locations, our 3”x8” C-Channel scraper can accommodate spans up to 22 feet (6.7 meters). Brentwood’s 3″x8″ C-Channel has the highest stiffness factor for this profile in the industry due to its higher modulus of elasticity.
ULTRA FLIGHT
Designed to handle higher sludge loadings and wider tank widths than our standard 3”x8” C-Channel offering, the Ultra flight is suitable for tank widths spanning up to 26.5’ (8.1 meters). The Ultra flight features vertical ribs that run parallel to the front face and perpendicular to its legs for added strength.
ULTRA PLUS FLIGHT
The Ultra Plus flight was introduced approximately 10 years ago to handle wider tanks than the Ultra scraper. The Ultra Plus is similar in shape to the Ultra flight but boasts a thicker profile and longer legs. This scraper’s 3.5”x8” nominal dimensions and plus size geometry allow it to span tank widths up to 31.1 feet (9.47 meters). The Ultra Plus is designed to push heavier sludge blankets than the Ultra while providing a more economical alternative to the Box flight.
BOX FLIGHT
The Polychem Box flight is among the sturdiest on the market. It is designed to span tank widths up to 40 feet (12 meters). With a robust profile and exceptional stiffness factor, it can handle the toughest conditions and sludge loadings.
E-FLIGHT
The E-Flight, named after its reverse E-shaped design, is the ultimate solution for processes requiring a taller scraper flight within a typical collector width. The E-Flight can accommodate spans up to 27.8 feet (8.5 meters) and is ideal for projects that anticipate higher sludge blankets.
