Crossflow Drift Eliminator Supports

Brentwood produces several drift eliminator supports for crossflow cooling tower applications which require non-integral drift eliminators, such as XF150MAx and XF80MAx. The drift eliminator supports offered include XF600, top/bottom profile, intermediate profile, and XF column-mounts.

How do you apply each of these supports and when are they best used?

The XF600 is a top and bottom support which is to be mounted on existing transverse ties. This product acts as a channel for the drift eliminators to sit in and is offered in 8′ and 12′ lengths. The supports provide built-in drainage to prevent flooding of the drift eliminator panels.

The top or bottom profile is primarily utilized in field-erected towers and is designed to be mounted on existing inclined posts. This product is offered in 8′ and 12′ lengths.

In cases where the tower is a “double stack,” the intermediate profile acts as a connection point between the lower level and upper level drift eliminators. This support is designed to be mounted on existing inclined posts and is offered in 8′ and 12′ lengths.

The XF column-mount support is designed to be installed on vertical columns in large, round concrete towers and provides built-in drainage for drift eliminators. This product is also offered in 8′ and 12′ lengths.
